Régiségbúvár Egyesület ("Antiquarian Youth and Cultural Society")
was estabilished with a view of promting the preservation and awarness of our cultural heritage and traditions, basically focusing on youth and families. To serve this goal, it organises educational, cultural, sports and recreational programs, and undertakes publication and dissemination, which effectively contribute to cherish our past and traditions.

Educational, scientific and cultural programs carried out by the Society:

  • In 1993, The Budaörs gr. Bercsényi Zsuzsanna City Library hosted a temporary, and later, by 1998 a permanent Local History Archeological Exhibition.
  • Since 1998 we have been making lessons and lectures, including historical playhouses, handicraft workshops, "live history lessons" in Budaörs primary schools and kindergartens, in the local Youth Club, in the City Library, and in the Colombus Human High School and primary School in Etyek-Botpuszta.
  • Every year since the summer of 2001 we have been working on an applied arts historical memorial close to Bükkszenkereszt, the glassworks Gyertyánvölgy archeological excavation and development, The scientific excavation, the restoration and publication of artifacts is jointly carried out with the Hermann Otto Museum. The discloure is also related to the summer archaeologist camp.
  • In 2002, with the support of the Local Government we created the Archaeological Exhibition of the City of Budaörs. The institution is operated and developed by the Society. The" Live Museum" the program history lessons, handicraft workshops, guided art exhibitions, recreational and family events are provided for our visitors,  as part of the" Live Museum" program   A book has been published about the exhibition items as welll as
    the results of archaeological excavations that took place in Budaörs. (Katalin Ottományi, Phd; Edit Mester, Phd; Zsolt Mráv: Antik gyökereink

  • In 2002, the Society excavated the remains of a medieval village Csik in Budaörs.
  • In 2003, with the support of the Local Government the medieval village Csik field excavation site was constructed for the Árpád-era archaeologigal park, named Csiki Pihenőkert. The institution is operated and developed by the Society. During the summer we have day care and/or boarding turns on a weekly basis (with a  program of "going back to the past") for vacationing children who are provided accomodation in the yurt village. For the forest-school programs textbooks and workbooks were made for kindergarten and school groups as well. (Edit Mester, Phd; Utazás a múltba, ("Journey to the past") Budaörs 2006.) Every week there is a medievel archery course and a martial art club for the visitors.
  • In 2003, we won 1st prize with the archaeological and the traditional work in Bükkszentkereszt at the Carpathian Euro-region Innovation Tender,
  • In 2004-2005 at the Columbus Educaton Center (Etyek-Botpuszta), with the participations of students, the Society built the Árpád-era archaeological park, which commemorates the village of Bot, where we are organising history lessons, handicraft workshops, nature knowledge lessons, and every summer day care or/and summer camps.
  • In 2006, by financing the the EU Interreg III project / " Budaörs and Kisújfalu- the new model of the nature conservation of cooperation" /, we managed to realize a triple objective:

  2.  "Together we can do it!"  Finding and protecting the natural values of the settlement, for a greener future. International Student Conference (8-9. September, Csiki Garden)

  3. Nature conservation fine art competition, Opening and Awards ceremony
    (17. November, Budaörs City Hall)
  • In 2007, with the support of the National Cultural Fund a national
    archaeological conference was organized in the Csiki Garden. (24-26. May
    Archaeological Parks in Hungary. enviromental and experimental archeology,
    museum educational facilities in the archaeological parks, scientific and
    demonstration days. )  A compilation of studies was also published about the
